We painted this over the last month or so and installed it yesterday. The size is 11'x5'. The physical therapists and patients are happy to have something interesting to break up their large blank walls. I really got into painting the clouds.

Employee recognition mural
This oceanscape mural for New Cassel retirement home was painted in the employee lounge and includes an area where "walk the walk" nominations for extra good work that employees notice their peers doing. The administrator said that she wanted to have employees "catch each other" when they do extraordinary service and have a monthly recognition for that. Decorative nomination forms that go with the theme of the mural will be posted on the rock to the right.

We installed a military tribute mural, just in time for veteran's day
We started these two 8'x80' canvases in mid April. They now are installed in the Grand Lodge Retirement Complex at 60th and Highway 370 in Omaha. Rebecca Van Ornam and Richard Harrison did most of the painting but we had help from Anne and Liz Newman (a mother, daughter team), Hugo Zamarano, Mike Giron and Gerardo Vazquez. There will soon be 5 glass shadow boxes 3'x4' in size displaying uniforms, metals and photos of some of the residents. The murals were designed through discussions with residents who had served in the military. We were mentioned in local newspapers in relation to this project. I was really happy that all our measurements worked out! The building will be completing construction in a month or two. I hope the residents will enjoy the mural.

Just finished a huge garden mural
This mural for Hillcrest Victoria Gardens was a joy to do since we got to visit with the residents over 3 weeks. It is in a common room for memory assisted patients. Thanks to Anne Newman and Hugo Zamorano for their help.

Our unveiling for the Lithuanian mural was amazing!
We had about 10 dignitaries from Lithuania, several who made speeches and gave us gifts and probably 50 community members join us for a really joyful celebration!

Lithuanian mural sketch
We are still fusing the different ideas for the Lithuanian mural sketch but here is my latest rendition.
Copa Cabana cigar lounge
We did some new murals for our favorite cigar lounge at 173 and Center this week. A vineyard, a tobacco farm, some troupe leoil bottles and some over scale cigars. It was fun and the patrons were very happy.

Sherman community center mural completed!
This is a great facility with a great group of people who feed and provide recreation to Carter Lake area kids. They have a community garden that's really amazing. Kristen Pluhacek is helping local kids paint a mural on the back side of the building. The remodel architect created the design for this mural. I had a good time painting it!

Murdock mural unveiling
Rebecca unveiled her Murdock community mural on July fourth to all the people celebrating the town's 115th anniversary. Everyone loved it. Pam Conyers-Hinson and I assisted Rebecca on her quest to tell the town's story. A few shapes are yet to be painted so stay tuned.

First layers on the Sherman Community center
I am painting a mural the architect of the remodel project did for this community center in North Omaha. It's been pretty fun.

Clear coated our mural at 26th and Harney
The stain glass effect looks backlit in the afternoon sun. I like the way the chimney fades from tree trunk to brick.

We have been captured in a short documentary about our 26th and Harney project
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=3-UGirR4PKI
We have been captured in a short documentary about our Harney project, it's only 4 minutes. Watch it and then watch the filmmaker's other projects, he produces these daily and they are entertaining! You can subscribe to get them regularly, which I recommend!

Mayor's Grant
We just found out we were awarded an Omaha Mayor's Grant to keep us going on our mission to paint murals about the different historically ethnic neighborhoods that evolved in South Omaha. This will be added to our Omaha Historical Fund Grant and funding from the South Omaha Busines Association. We will be working on a Lithuanian and an Irish Mural this Summmer!
Peace Piece
I created this recently to help our church remember Darlene Sherman, a wonderful friend who passed away this year. Our church has a lot of great things going for it. St. Andrew's UMC in Omaha. They have really supported me as an artist and a person. You can learn about the material I used here: http://en.pebeo.com/Creative-leisure/Painting-on-Glass/Vitrail.

Our design for a mural at 26th an Harney
This is going to be our next exterior mural. Urban Village has been a great community revitalizing organization in Omaha. They have turned a lot of neighborhoods from sketchy to desirable and preserved a lot of great architecture while doing it! You can check them out at I omaha.com.
We are excited to explore the stain glass style of the design. We plan to use airless paint machine spraying and aerosol paint cans along with our brush and roller tricks.
This project is also a solution to an advertising need. Urban Village needs renters to keep going with its mission and they need to get the word out. We have priced our work to be very competitive with getting a billboard and we spread out our client's payments over time. Contact us to see what we mean.

Small play rooms
I painted 2 small play rooms lately, both of them about the size of Harry Potter's cupboard under the stairs, both of them with ladders and lofts. Reminds me of my bunk beds when I was a kid, how Mom curtained them off so they could be my imaginary place. I forgot to take a picture but we built a ladder, a railing and a captain's wheel for the cloudy/starry/spaceship/pirate ship room.
